$60,000 Gift From Pella Corporation Foundations Brings Carroll Library Closer To $2.5 Million Fundraising Goal

The Carroll Public Library Foundation is one step closer to their $2.5 million fundraising goal after $60,000 in gifts from two Pella Corporation foundations. On Friday, Jan 19, the Pella Rolscreen Foundation contributed $50,000 to the library project with an additional $10,000 from the Kuyper Foundation. Library Foundation President, Mitch Hiscocks, says they cannot thank these two organizations enough for their support.

These donations bring the fundraising total to just shy of $1.75 million. Library Director, Rachel Van Erdewyk, says they are getting close to their goal and are working to generate the remaining amount.

Van Erdewyk says they are pursuing grants from outside the community to avoid competing with other area non-profits.

She hopes to hear back on several grant applications this spring and is tracking additional opportunities. When they do exceed their goal, Van Erdewyk says it is likely that they will find a use for that money.

Library staff continues to work with the design firm heading the project, OPN Architects, on specific aspects of the project . Construction is scheduled to begin this fall and slated for completion in fall of 2019.
