Congressman, Steve King, and District 12 State Representative, Brian Best, have put their support behind the Republican candidate for Carroll County District Four Supervisor, Stephanie Hausman. Best made the opening remarks to start the Wednesday evening event at Swan Lake State Park. He said the Republican party is fortunate to have younger conservatives willing to put in the time and effort to be a leader at the local level.

Best then introduced Hausman to the crowd. She told attendees that her goal is to bring conservative values to the board of supervisors, especially regarding taxpayer dollars. Hausman outlined how she would spend her first 90 days in office if elected.

The campaign event’s keynote speaker was Iowa’s Fourth District Congressman, Steve King. He joked that he has known Hausman’s parents, Ken and Nancy Snyder, for years, and noted that their work ethic is evident in their daughter.

King added Hausman’s commitment to the county is obvious because she chose to bring her family back to Carroll.

He went on to say that the implementation of the Republican tax cuts and deregulation at the national, state and local levels have caused the middle class to expand for the first time in nearly a decade, and electing more Republicans is the way to see that trend continue. Hausman is running against 16-year Democratic incumbent, Marty Danzer. That race is one of only three contested races on the Nov. 6 midterm ballot.
