$1 Million Bond Set For Man Accused Of Kidnapping And Sexual Abuse In Guthrie County

A man accused of kidnapping, sexual abuse and multiple other charges is being held on a $1 million bond in the Guthrie County jail following his arrest Thursday morning. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly after midnight to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Lake Panorama. Authorities conducted an investigation and arrested 34-year-old Michael Mackenzie Taylor later that day at approximately 9 a.m. He is accused of first-degree kidnapping, a class A felony, third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony, assault with intent to inflict serious injury, an aggravated misdemeanor, false imprisonment, a serious misdemeanor. He is also charged with first-degree harassment, interference with official acts and obstruction of emergency communications, all simple misdemeanors. Taylor remains in custody at the Guthrie County jail. If found guilty of all charges, Taylor could serve life in prison. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Lake Panorama Security, the Panora Police Department, the Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Enforcement.
