A number of women from Guthrie County have joined forces in order to make a positive difference for the people in their communities. The 10 Squared Women of Guthrie County group was created less than a year ago, and co-founder, Shannon Neff-Muell, says their most recent efforts went to helping hungry kids.

Five different schools near Guthrie County received funds from 10 Squared. Adair-Casey, Panorama, Guthrie Center, West Central Valley and Coon Rapids-Bayard each received between $1,400 and nearly $4,000 to fund the program. Nearly $12,000 in total was gifted to the schools. Neff-Muell says 10 Squared aims to donate a significant amount to area organizations four times per year.

The organization is still new and encourages women to get involved.

A similar organization, called Ten Squared Plus Men of Guthrie County, exists for males and works in conjunction with the women’s organization. For information about 10 Squared Women of Guthrie County or to join, follow the links included below this story.
