A woman has died after a single-vehicle, single-occupant car accident this (Thursday) afternoon in Carroll. At approximately 12:30 p.m., the Carroll Police Department responded to the St. Lawrence Center at 1607 North West Street on reports of an elderly woman lying unconscious on the ground. The woman was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for treatment, but later died due to her injuries. Authorities have not yet released the woman’s name. The Iowa State Patrol is performing an investigation into the accident and North West Street will remain closed until approximately 2:15 p.m. No other injuries were reported, and student dismissal from the school will occur as normal.
