Wendl’s Weapons of Carroll and Shooters Outlet in Arcadia are offering to shell out some profits to help the Carroll Police Department raise funds for a new K-9 unit. On Wednesday, June 21, both stores will donate a portion of that day’s sales to the fundraising effort. Since the idea was brought forward by four Carroll High School sophomores this past March, the department reports they have raised just over $11,560 towards the more than $20,000 it takes to purchase and train the K-9. They are also very happy to announce that there is a dog already in training that they will be purchasing later this year. The Carroll Police Department has not had a K-9 in service since 2007, and they are all very grateful for the support the community has shown towards helping them reach their goal.
