Vail Man’s Plea Deal Reduces Felony Drug Charge To Misdemeanor

A Vail man faces a reduced sentence after pleading guilty to drug charges earlier this week. On Tuesday, 25-year-old Jordan Lee Valencia pleaded guilty to second offense possession of a controlled substance—methamphetamine, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was ordered to serve a two-year probation in the custody of the Iowa Department of Corrections and complete a rehabilitation program at a facility in eastern Iowa before he will be released. Valencia was also ordered to pay $625 in fines, a 35 percent surcharge and associated court costs. Valencia was originally charged with felony controlled substance violations on July 4 when he was arrested in Carroll with multiple baggies of methamphetamine on his person.
