One building is completely destroyed and about half a block has burned in a fire that started overnight in downtown Exira. Carroll Broadcasting Assistant News Director, Nathan Konz, is on the scene and says that he met nearly 10 tankers in Audubon filling with water to help battle the blaze. KSOM Radio in Atlantic reported that the fire at Jerry’s Joint Bar was reported at around 2:30 a.m., but firefighters were struggling to get enough water to the site. Nearly 17 fire departments from as far as 50 miles away have been called in to help battle the blaze. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more on this incident as details become available.
