Two Teens Avoid Serious Injuries After Rolling Truck At Oakland Cemetery In Sac City

Two teenagers avoided serious injuries early Wednesday morning after they rolled their vehicle while spinning doughnuts. At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 9, the Sac City Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle accident in the Oakland Cemetery in Sac City. When they arrived, officers found a black, 2008 Chevrolet Colorado, owned by Ronald Osborn, of Lytton, on its top. The vehicle was being driven by 16-year-old Chase Ames Meyer, of Sac City. He was accompanied by a passenger, 16-year-old Karston Arman Ausborn, of Lytton. According to authorities, the vehicle rolled while Meyer was driving erratically through the cemetery grounds. Minor injuries were reported in the incident, and one subject was transported to Loring Hospital for treatment. The truck was deemed a total loss with $12,000 in damages. The damage to the sod is estimated at $1,000. Meyer has been charged with failure to possess a valid driver’s license and failure to maintain control, both simple misdemeanors. Ausborn is charged with permitting an unauthorized person to drive, also a simple misdemeanor.
