Two People Taken To ER After Collision In Jefferson

Two individuals were taken to the ER after two vehicles collided Thursday afternoon in Jefferson. At approximately 1:27 p.m., the Jefferson Police Department responded to reports of an accident at the intersection of North Locust Street and East Washington Street on the east side of town. A 2009 Cadillac DTS, driven by Richard Smith, of Jefferson, was westbound on East Washington Street. As Smith traveled through the intersection, a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by Dorena Wilson, of Jefferson, was driving north on North Locust Street and failed to yield at the intersection. Two people were transported by Greene County Emergency Medical Services to the Greene County Medical Center Emergency Room with possible injuries. Damage is estimated at $4,000 to both the Smith and Wilson vehicles. Wilson was cited for failure to yield to vehicle on right.
