Two Carroll Residents Arrested After Monday Altercation

Two Carroll residents have been charged with public intoxication after an altercation Monday afternoon. At approximately 3:15 p.m., the Carroll Police Department was called to the area behind an apartment complex at 422 East 7th St. on a report of a female threatening a male with a blade. Upon arrival, officers found 32-year-old Ashley Ann Reinart arguing with 32-year-old Jose Eduardo Alvarez-Galdamez. When questioned, Reinart admitted to having a pocket knife opened and pointed at Alvarez. She told authorities Alvarez was following her. During the exchange, officers could detect the smell of alcohol coming from both parties. Reinart consented to a preliminary breath test and results showed a blood alcohol content of over 0.08, the legal limit. Alvarez refused to take the test. Both were arrested and charged with public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor.
