Transient Arrested After Harassing Customers At Two Jefferson Businesses

A Des Moines man was placed in custody after verbally assaulting customers at two Jefferson businesses. At approximately 8:59 a.m. on Sunday, the Jefferson Police Department responded to a complaint at the Casey’s General Store at 508 North Elm Street that there was a transient arguing with customers and begging for money. The officer made contact with 33-year-old Larry Lee Morgan and asked him to vacate the property. At approximately 10:52 a.m., the department received another report from the Shell gas station at 208 W. Lincoln Way that Morgan had been there, yelled at the customers and then left. He was located just a few blocks away and arrested. Morgan has been charged with disorderly conduct.
