Tonight’s Council Meeting Includes Discussion On Police Radios And Water Distribution Model

There may be a few comments at tonight’s Carroll City Council meeting regarding two subjects in-particular, according to City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver. The council will be reviewing an acceptance of public improvements and a street grade ordinance for the Timber Creek East Subdivision as well as the proposed installation of a permanent stop sign at the Woodland Drive and 10th Street intersection, where a temporary one has been in place for a short period of time already. JEO will also be presenting a professional services agreement for a water distribution hydraulic model.

Other items on the agenda for tonight’s (Monday’s) meeting are a resolution for a street light at 30th and West Streets, the purchase of a police vehicle and a discussion on waiving the purchasing policy on new radios for the Carroll Police Department. Law enforcement, Pogge-Weaver says, is going to a new 800 megahertz system that will boost their communication capabilities.

The city has received grant funding for the project to bring their net cost down to about 25 percent of the total expected expense to implement the upgraded system. The council will then receive a report on a Merchants Park change order for the extra brackets needed to change the seating over from wood to composite and they will consider locking in Dec. 14 as the date for their next goal-setting session. The Carroll City Council will meet at 5:15 p.m. tonight in the second-floor council chambers at City Hall. The public is encouraged to attend.
