Three Area Students Receive Iowa Corn Scholarships

Iowa Corn has announced 16 students will be recipients of the Iowa Corn Future of Agriculture Scholarships for the 2017/18 school year. The program awards eight $500 first-year scholarships and eight $500 upperclassman scholarships to individuals pursuing degrees that position them for contributions to the agriculture industry in Iowa. Emily Campbell of Audubon Community Schools and Spencer Gress of Charter Oak-Ute Schools were two of the high school students named award winners. Campbell will be attending Iowa State University and majoring in Agricultural Studies and Gress will be at Kirkwood Community College majoring in Agricultural Business. Nicole Langbein from Sac City is a sophomore at Morningside College majoring in Applied Agriculture and Food Studies and Business Administration. She received one of the upperclassman scholarships and wrote in her essay that she is planning on using the knowledge she is gaining to contribute to her family’s farm.
