A Stewart man was sentenced to jail time this week after being found in contempt of court. Forty-six year old Wiley Gail Chumos appeared at the Carroll County courthouse Thursday and waived his right to an attorney before consenting to the contempt charge. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail for refusing to pay fines and court fees from a previous charge. Chumos’ sentence was suspended on the condition he pay at least $50 per month on his debts and must appear again on Dec. 14. Chumos is not a resident of Carroll County and currently resides in Stewart.
