Step Into The Past At The Leet-Hassler Farmstead 100th Anniversary In Manning This Weekend

As the Leet-Hassler Farmstead, on the grounds of the Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park, celebrates their 100th Anniversary, visitors are invited to take a step back in time to see a glimpse of what life was like in the mid-1900s. Throughout the morning on Saturday, May 13, celebration attendees will get the chance to ride in a wagon pulled by a pair of Percheron horses. The horses come from a historical museum on the Century Farm of Fred and Marilyn Coltrain of Kiron. Admission to the park is free on Saturday morning, from 9 a.m. to noon, and includes tours of the farmstead house and carriage house as well as the 1660s German Hausbarn and the 1913 Trinity Church. A free-will donation will get you breakfast from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and family-friendly, old-fashioned games will be set up for everyone to enjoy. At 11 a.m., a special presentation will be held in recognition of two grants awarded to the park.
