St. Anthony Regional Hospital has partnered with Mid-Iowa Anesthesia and Pain Services to re-open its Pain Management Clinic. Mid-Iowa’s Chris Hanson, CRNA, NSPM-C is now accepting patients on Mondays and Tuesdays from noon to 4 p.m. Hanson says he takes a reflective, integrative and multidisciplinary approach to pain management treatment for each patient. “I work with them to identify the root cause of chronic pain through evaluations, customize an individual treatment plan and offer solutions that we can achieve together,” he said. St. Anthony Anesthesia Director, Ed Cutler, says chronic pain is one of the most under-treated health problems in the country. “The incidence is higher than cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure combined,” Cutler said. Cutler will be overseeing the clinic where a variety of pain management services will be offered including: steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation, nerve blocks and more. They may also offer smoking cessation, physical therapy and nutrition planning and counseling services. Mid-Iowa Anesthesia has three other clinics in Boone, Guthrie Center and Nevada. For more information or to schedule an appointment with Hanson at St. Anthony, call 794-5206.
