At approximately 9:30 a.m., the Carroll Fire Department responded to the report of an electrical fire at a business located at 905 Highway 30 East. Fire Chief, Greg Schreck, says a small fire was located in the attic of the building, and firefighters were able to extinguish it quickly. Firefighters remained on scene for approximately 30 minutes to clear smoke from the building. Schreck adds they are fortunate that one of the building’s occupants smelled the smoke as the fire was still in the early stages of development and only very minor damage occurred. The Vaped Ape and Device Defenders are two of the businesses located at that address.
