Senator Grassley Says Impeachment As A Result Of Trump Investigation Unlikely

Many Democrats and some Republicans are comparing the investigations into Russian election tampering, President Donald Trump’s alleged sharing of classified information and leaks coming from within the administration to the level of the Watergate Scandal, but Senator Chuck Grassley finds very few similarities between the two. He believes many of the claims against Trump are not impeachable offenses.

Robert Mueller is serving as special prosecutor overseeing these investigations. It is unknown how long it will take for the investigations to be finished. Grassley says the inquiries are over when Mueller decides.

Before the special prosecutor’s appointment, fired FBI Director, James Comey, was heading up the investigation into these incidents. Grassley believes Comey will testify before the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee in the coming weeks, and efforts are being made for him to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee as well.

Grassley has not seen any conclusive evidence connecting Trump to the allegations against him, and any claims of guilt are only speculation until the investigation is complete.
