Senator Grassley Ranks Fifth In Congressional Bipartisanship

A recent study from the Lugar Center and the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University ranks Senator Chuck Grassley as fifth in the United States for bipartisanship. The rankings for the 114th Congress measured how often a member introduced bills that succeed in attracting co-sponsors from members of the other party and in return, how often they co-sponsor a bill introduced from across the aisle. “Many Americans might be surprised to learn that real bipartisanship exists these days in Washington,” Grassley says. “I hope my work for Iowans serves as an example that working together is not only possible, but also should be expected of elected officials,” Grassley adds. So far this year, bipartisan legislation has addressed veteran’s access to health care, prescription drug costs and combating sexual assault on campuses. The most recent bipartisan legislation had Grassley and Senator Elizabeth Warren of Mass. reintroducing a bill to make hearing aids for those with mild to moderate hearing loss available over the counter.
