U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, a combat veteran and member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, met Tuesday with President-elect Trump’s nominee for Secretary of the Army, former U.S. Army infantry officer, Vincent Viola. She says Viola’s military experience brings an invaluable foundation and understanding of the needs of our soldiers around the globe. Ernst said she and Viola discussed the ways he intends to seek better leverage for military forces and how he will ensure they receive the best equipment possible. They reviewed his ideas on ways to better utilize our nation’s defense team and, with growing global threats, how we can leverage our forces wisely and efficiently.
