Semi-Tractor Trailer Sideswipes Car In Arcadia Tuesday Afternoon

There was a total of an estimated $9,000 in damages done during a car-semi accident Tuesday in Arcadia. At approximately 12:28 p.m., 45-year-old Anjanette Marie Bennett of Lake View, was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry southbound on Gault Street and had stopped for the posted stop sign. A 1991 Freightliner, being driven by 29-year-old Charles Lee Pedersen of Dana, was westbound on Main and making a right-hand turn onto Gault when he struck the Bennett vehicle. Bennett told authorities she was in her proper lane, but was unable to back away from the semi making a wide turn. The driver-side front quarter panel and bumper of the semi struck the driver-side quarter panel and bumper of the Camry, then continued to swipe the length of the vehicle. There was an estimated $5,000 in damage to the Camry and $4,000 in damage to the Freightliner. Pedersen has been cited with failure to maintain control. No serious injuries were reported. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
