Second Person Arrested In Storm Lake Forgery Case

On Wednesday afternoon, March 29, the Storm Lake Police Department received notification from Citizen’s Credit Union in Storm Lake that they had received several allegedly forged checks from a 25-year-old Newell man, Kyle Klink, who was a suspect in other forgeries at two different branches of Citizen’s First National Bank in Storm Lake. The investigation into this incident has identified another person alleged to be involved in the check-cashing scheme, 25-year-old Rachel Campbell of Newell. Campbell is reported to have also passed a forged check at the credit union. The Storm Lake Police Department took Campbell into custody on Friday, March 31, and charged her with one count of forgery, a class D felony. She was booked into the Buena Vista County jail on a $5,000 bond. At last report, Klink remained in custody on nine forgery counts, a count of ongoing criminal conduct, a class B felony, and possession of stolen property, a simple misdemeanor. A vehicle was also seized in the ongoing investigation.
