SCC Graduates Over 70 Fifth Graders From The D.A.R.E Program

Nearly 70 South Central Calhoun (SCC) fifth graders are celebrating their graduation from the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) during a ceremony tomorrow (Wednesday). These students completed nearly 12 weeks of education to reach the end of the program, and Calhoun County Deputy and D.A.R.E. Coordinator, Jeff Feldhans, says the students learn about a wide variety of drugs and their detrimental effects.

The students will be going through a special ceremony to commemorate their graduation from the program. D.A.R.E. education finishes with the students writing an essay. Feldhans has taught DARE for 17 years and credits students for their efforts.

The DARE graduation takes place tomorrow (Wednesday) at the SCC middle school auditorium in Rockwell city at 2:10 p.m. Attendance at the ceremony is encouraged.
