The Sac City Police Department has made an announcement following an investigation into a reported possible attempted abduction on Monday morning at the East Sac Middle School. They have concluded there was no foul play involved after identifying the subject and speaking with him. He told officers he called to the two students believing they were relatives. An alert was sent out at about 11:15 a.m. on Monday by the department after students reported to school officials that a man had pulled up and called them over to his pickup truck. Even though this was a simple misunderstanding, parents are reminded to ensure their children know what to do if approached by a stranger. They should never talk to them, and if confronted, they should run away and tell the nearest adult or call 911 immediately.
