Sac City Administrator Starts First Week In New Role

Sac City welcomed its new City Administrator, Jamie Lawrence, to the staff Monday, and his primary goal in his first week is to get settled into the new job. Lawrence hails from the Hopkinsville, Kentucky region and worked as the Water Management Coordinator for the Pennyrile Area Development District, an organization similar to the Region XII Council of Government. His experience there has given him a strong background in municipal projects which made him a perfect fit for this role.

Before Lawrence was hired, the administrator position had been vacant since December of 2016 after his predecessor, Adam Ledford, resigned. Lawrence’s first visit to Sac City came during his interviews. He says after seeing the town, it was certainly a place he wanted to be.

He and his wife, Samantha, are looking forward to getting their things unpacked and getting to know the people in the community. Lawrence says he is excited for a chance to finally try walleye fishing and explore the Sauk Rail Trail with his spouse once he is settled in.
