The community of Rockwell City is looking back today (Wednesday) at four years since the loss of one of their own in the line of duty. Thirty-seven-year-old Jamie Buenting was an eight year veteran on the force when he was shot while attempting to arrest 36-year-old Corey Trott. Trott was convicted of first-degree murder on Sept. 5, 2014 and sentenced to life in prison without parole. Buenting is survived by his wife and two children. Rockwell City and Calhoun County Authorities say that they will never forget Buenting’s heroic acts on that fateful day.
