Three Manning organizations have been selected to receive funding through the Refresh Manning Trust Fund for 2017. The IKM-Manning School District received $750 to be used to improve existing digital signage with the purchase of a 65-inch television for the Manning lunch room. This will replace the 39-inch television now being used for announcements and community related events and job openings. The Manning Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) was also awarded $750 to be used for printing a coloring book that highlights significant historic and cultural places in Manning. The book features images of the German Hausbarn, Trinity Church and Milwaukee Trestle and will also highlight the Main Street District, the water tower and the Leet/Hassler Farmstead, all listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The third recipient of $100 was the Manning Wolves youth wrestling program. This grant will be combined with other fundraising efforts for the purchase of wrestling mats for the newly-formed program which has grown from 25 to 38 participants in its second season.
