Rebecca Windschitl Named The 2016 Humanitarian Of The Year At The Carroll Chamber Of Commerce Banquet

The 2016 Humanitarian award was presented during the Carroll Chamber of Commerce banquet Monday evening to one of the most musically gifted citizens in our region. Emcee for the evening, Tam Milligan, told guests this honor is one of the toughest to choose a winner.

Last night’s (Monday) award winner was not able to attend in person, so Dr. David Martin presented and accepted the award on her behalf. Rebecca Windschitl of All String Attached, is honored to be the humanitarian of the year, and is influential to the growth and expansion of musical talent with 170 plus members from over 30 communities in the orchestra. Martin shared an excerpt from one of her many nominations.

Windschitl was surprised by the award and wanted to thank everyone for their support of All Strings Attached and musicians in the region.

She has over 40 years of musical instruction experience and was awarded the 1995-96 Teacher of the Year award by the Iowa String Teachers Association, the 1996 Governor’s Volunteer and Adult Service award and recognized as the Outstanding Music Educator at the World of Music Festival in 1999 and 2001. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more on each award winner in upcoming broadcasts, and a full list of recipients can be found included below.
