The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office reports a two-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 7:26 a.m. this morning (Friday) at the intersection of Highway 71 and 120th Street, northeast of Mt. Carmel. Seventeen-year-old Aaron Nicholas Denney was traveling eastbound on 120th Street in a 2004 GMC K2500 and slowing for the stop sign at the intersection with Highway 71. Seventeen-year-old Alexander Michael Schwabe was driving a 2006 Dodge Dakota and was also eastbound on 120th. Schwabe failed to stop in time, striking the rear of the Denney truck. No injuries were reported, but there was an estimated $100 in damage to the GMC and $1,500 to the Dakota. Schwabe was cited for failure to maintain control.
