One Taken To Hospital After Single-Vehicle Accident Tuesday Morning Near Glidden

One passenger was taken to the hospital after frozen roads caused a single-vehicle accident Tuesday morning near Glidden. The Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene at approximately 7:47 a.m. and say in an accident report 19-year-old Safura Khan, of Glidden, was southbound in a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 2500K about five miles south of Glidden on Timber Avenue near 250th Street when she hit a patch of frost and lost control. The vehicle crossed the center line and entered the east ditch. The truck rolled once before coming to a stop on its wheels in a field. Her passenger, 21-year-old Kaleb William Lindner, of Carroll, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the accident and was transported by Glidden Emergency Medical Services to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for treatment. The truck was determined to be a total loss with damages estimated at $7,500. Khan was cited for failure to maintain control.
