Nominate Your Favorite Burger As Iowa’s Best

It’s time for Iowan’s to put their taste buds to the test and help find the best burger in the state for 2017. The Iowa Beef Industry Council (IBIC) and the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association (ICA) are encouraging you to nominate your favorite burger. The eighth-annual Iowa’s Best Burger contest kicked off Monday and will accept nominations through 5 p.m. on March 13. Organizers will whittle down the nominations to the top 10 restaurants with the most votes, who will be announced March 20. Finalists will receive a certificate and then be eligible for the secret taste-test of contest judges. The Best Burger in Iowa will be announced on May 1 to kick off National Beef Month. More than 6,200 nominations were received for 311 restaurants last year, with the Chuckwagon Restaurant in Adair taking home the prize. Locally, the Coon Rapids Bowl III came out on top in 2012 and Sac County Cattle Company in Sac City won in 2010. Nominations can be made by mail, text or online. More information and instructions on making nominations can be found below.
