The NEW Cooperative and Land O’ Lakes Foundations presented a check to the City of Glidden Monday morning to be used on the currently-under-construction Albert Kruger Sr. Shelter in the Glidden Pool Park. The $5,000 check is a joint operation between the two foundations to assist communities funding projects. Glidden applied for and was awarded the grant to help purchase items after construction is complete such as kitchen equipment, counter-tops, a large-screen television and internet connectivity items. The city has estimated the total cost of equipment for the shelter could reach as high as $48,000. Each foundation contributed $2,500 to the $5,000 gift.
