New Carroll Business Wants To Assure Residents They Are Not Associated With Door-To-Door Solicitations

Several Carroll residents reported a man traveling door-to-door claiming to represent Mediacom and Dish Network earlier this week. The Carroll Police Department issued a warning to all residents to avoid interaction with this individuals as they had not been screened nor had they applied for a solicitor’s permit with the city. A new local company, Johnston Communications, wants to make sure that the people of Carroll and the surrounding communities are made aware that they are in no way, shape or form associated with the door-to-door sales. Sales manager, Barb King, says they have not officially even opened their doors yet and have no employees in the area at this time. They are all at the Iowa State Fair. She asks that they not be confused with companies who send in “door knockers” from other states. She adds, they are a family-owned, family-run business, holding elite standing with all of the companies they represent, and they absolutely do not door knock or peddle. Johnston Communications will be opening their doors for business soon and will be selling and servicing for Dish Network, DirecTV, Exede, Hughes Net, Century Link, Frontier and Windstream.
