The Storm Lake Police Department (SLPD) reports that more arrests for the distribution of methamphetamine were made Wednesday night. At approximately 5:30 p.m., the department made a controlled purchase of methamphetamine from a resident at 300 East 1st Street. Afterward, they conducted surveillance, until around 6:45 p.m., when the SLPD Tactical Entry Team executed a search warrant. The team located and seized approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine, hypodermic needles and other devices used to ingest the drug. Thirty-six-year old Joshua Cook and 45-year-old Michael Kirchner, both of Storm Lake, were arrested and booked into the Buena Vista County jail. Cook has been charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a class B felony, delivery of methamphetamine, a class C felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. He is being held on a $25,000 bond. Kirchner has been charged with conspiracy to possess methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a class C felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on a $10,000 bond.
