On Jan. 6, family members of 84-year-old (Beverly) Joy Annear asked for assistance searching for their missing grandmother and mother, but that search ended Sunday morning after the family called off the search at approximately 8:20 a.m. and announced that funeral arrangements were pending. Annear left her home Friday evening to visit a friend in a nursing home in Ida Grove. She was last seen south of Highway 175 around 5:30 p.m. on that night, asking for directions and traveling north on German Avenue. According to Ida County Sheriff, Wade Harriman, she was found later a short distance away, only four and a half miles southwest of Ida Grove.
Annear had already passed away when authorities discovered her.
