There was extensive property damage but only minor injuries in an accident northeast of Mt. Carmel Wednesday afternoon. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of 120th Street and Kittyhawk Ave. at approximately 5:39 p.m. A 2012 Chrysler Town and Country van, driven by 55-year-old Lisa Ann Hoffman of Breda, was westbound on 120th Street. A 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by 26-year-old Tera Nicole Petersen of Carroll, was eastbound and preparing to make a left-hand turn onto Kittyhawk Ave. Petersen pulled out in front of the Hoffman vehicle, which struck the front passenger side corner of the Avalanche. Hoffman was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of suspected minor injuries. There was an estimated $11,000 in damage to her vehicle and $10,000 in damage to the Petersen vehicle. Petersen was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn.
