One lucky individual who purchased a Powerball ticket at a Council Bluffs Casey’s store is holding onto a $1 million piece of paper. The Iowa Lottery has announced the ticket was just one number short of winning the $62.9 million jackpot, by matching the first five numbers but missing the Powerball. No one matched all six numbers, so Wednesday’s prize is expected to climb to a $75 million annuity or a $47.3 million cash option. Saturday’s winning numbers were 12-14-26-48-51 and a Powerball of 13. The Power Play number was 3. The Council Bluffs prize was one of only two $1 million tickets across the country, the other was purchased in Florida. The Casey’s will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Iowa Lottery for selling the prize-winning ticket.
