Milford Man Charged With Felony Theft For Taking Scrap Metal From A Sac City Business

A Milford man has been charged with having thousands of dollars’ worth of scrap metal in his control that was stolen from a Sac City business. The Sac City Police Department took a theft report on Tuesday, Dec. 19 from Sac City MGM Plumbing and Heating that approximately $1,500 dollars in scrap was missing from their business. After an investigation, 47-year-old Scott Hassel was arrested and charged with second-degree theft—possession of stolen property, a class D felony. If found guilty of the charge, Hassel faces up to five years imprisonment and a maximum fine of $7,500.
