Manson Man Injured In Head-On Collision

A Manson man sustained injuries in a two-vehicle accident in Palo Alto County on Friday. The Iowa State Patrol reports that at approximately 7:09 a.m., a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, being driven by 17-year-old Hunter Thomas Williams of Graettinger, was westbound on Highway 18 west of Emmetsburg. Forty-two-year-old Timothy James Mohr was eastbound in a 2005 Peterbilt semi-tractor trailer when the Cobalt crossed the center line. The vehicles collided head-on and both started on fire as a result. Williams was transported to the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg by Emmetsburg Emergency Medical Services. Mohr was transported to the same hospital by a friend. The Iowa State Patrol says road and weather conditions are not believed to be a factor in the accident that remains under investigation. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
