Manning Man Sentenced To Probation After Plea Deal

A Manning man has been sentenced to five years imprisonment after pleading guilty to second offense domestic abuse assault, a class D felony, and child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor. On Thursday, Oct. 12, District Judge, Joseph McCarville, handed down the punishment to 36-year-old Jose Domingo Rangel. Rangel’s prison time has been suspended and, instead, has been sentenced to serve two years of probation and complete a Residential Correctional Facility program. If Rangel fails to follow the terms of his probation, he will be required to serve the prison term and pay nearly $1,400 in fines. A no contact order filed by the victim in the case against Rangel will remain in effect following his probation and he is required to submit a sample for DNA profiling. The charges against Rangel stem from an incident in December of 2015.
