Learn More About Registered Apprenticeships At IowaWORKS

National Apprenticeship Week starts Monday, Nov. 13, and a regional organization is planning an informational session to help attendees learn new ways potential candidates can be matched with businesses looking for quality employees. On Friday, Nov. 17, IowaWORKS will be hosting an event focused on registered apprenticeships at their Carroll office on North Carroll Street. A registered apprenticeship is an employer-driven model that combines on-the-job learning with classroom instruction while also allowing the apprentice to earn a paycheck from their very first day in the program. This is the time to find out why you should consider registered apprenticeships to help fill the talent gap caused by an aging workforce of highly-skilled and experienced workers and to draw in a new, more diverse talent pool. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. For more information or to register, contact Sherri Vaughn at 792-2685 ext. 22 or email her at sherri.vaughn@iwd.iowa.gov.
