Landus Cooperative Seeking Nominees For Board Of Directors’ Seats

Landus Cooperative is putting out a call, seeking candidates to run for a seat on the Board of Directors. Voting members of the 26-county farmer-owned cooperative are eligible to fill one of four open positions. There is one seat open for a board member to represent cooperative locations in Grundy, Butler, Bremer, Franklin, Hancock or Winnebago Counties in Iowa and Faribault County in Minnesota. Two seats are open for Guthrie, Boone, Story, Polk, Dallas and Madison Counties and one position is available on the board representing locations in Calhoun, Greene, Sac, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Ida and Webster Counties. The board currently has 18 directors, and six of those terms will expire this year. With a reduction in board size, nominees are being sought to fill only four positions at the 2017 Annual Meeting, to be held in December in Ames. “It is important that we continue to move this cooperative forward on behalf of our members by leveraging the ideas and input of our farmer-leaders on the Board of Directors,” says Trent Farnham, a farmer from Gowrie who serves as chair of the Board’s Governance committee. He encourages progressive, engaged members who are considering this leadership opportunity to reach out, ask questions and put their name on the ballot. The deadline for being included on that ballot is Aug. 1. Contact information for interested parties and a listing of current board members can be found below.
