Executive Director of the Carroll Chamber of Commerce and Carroll Area Development Corporation, Shannon Landauer, has received national recognition for mastering skills in economic development, professional attainment and commitment to personal and professional growth with a designation as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD). Landauer has 11 years of economic development experience and has worked with existing industries on growth projects, she has provided leadership in the Western Iowa Region with business attraction efforts and worked with local business and education partners on the creation of talent development strategies. The CEcD exam was administered Jan. 28 and Jan. 29 in Jacksonville, Fla. by the International Development Council (IEDC). Candidates must pass this rigorous and comprehensive, three-part examination that tests their knowledge, proficiency and judgement in key areas of economic development, including: business retention and expansion; marketing and attraction; strategic planning; and workforce development strategies to name just a few.
