The City of Lake View saw a small decrease in wages paid to employees this last year. In 2016, $745.863.96 in wages were paid to city employees. This is a nearly one percent drop from the $752,132.20 paid in 2015. City Administrator, Scott Peterson, says variations from year to year are expected.
Lake View did see an increase of about $36,000 in wages from 2014 to 2015. Peterson says that increase came with the creation of a new position in the city.
Those harvesters are used to keep water in Black Hawk Lake clear for recreational uses. Cities in Iowa are required to pass a resolution stating the wages paid to their employees each year.
