The City of Lake View implemented a six-year incremental increase to sewer rates two years ago to fund debt associated with their lagoon project. The 12.5 percent annual base-rate increase will go into effect for the third year, with rates moving from $14 to $15.35. The consumption fee will also go up from $5.55 to $6.15 per 1,000 gallons of water metered. This new rate will be included on bills sent March 1, 2017. In addition to this increase the City of Lake View will also be raising garbage pick-up rates on March 1. The monthly base fee will go up by $1.50, from $9.25 to $10.75, and the cost of garbage bags will rise by 50 cents, from $1.50 to $2.00.
