City officials in Lake View have amended their fiscal year 2017 budget by nearly $60,000 after estimated expenses for the year were surpassed. The differences were created by additional training expenses to send an officer to the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy, legal service fees, a mid-year contract change with the city’s garbage collection agency and payment of expenses incurred in fiscal year 2016. A public hearing on the budget amendment was held Monday, May 15. The city council heard no arguments from the public against the amendment and approved the budget correction unanimously.
