The Lake City Swim Team Board’s insurance coverage will now fall under the city’s policy after the City Council voted to include them under their plan. The town’s swim team is managed by the city, and Swim Team Board Member, Rita Burley, requested coverage from the city rather than provide their own. City Administrator, Eric Wood, says they were able to grant that request with a little extra paperwork and at no additional cost.
Wood says very little will change when it comes to swim meets during the summer.
The change in insurance coverage will apply for the upcoming 2017 swim season. Council members voted unanimously on the decision.
