The Jefferson Police Department has received lab results back from the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and is now requesting arrest warrants in several cases. A urine analysis collection was made during a traffic stop on Feb. 26, after officers noticed a pungent, marijuana-like odor emanating from the vehicle. The lab results showed traces of marijuana and a warrant for operating while intoxicated, first offense, is being sought against 20-year-old Logan Wayne Grazier of Cedar Falls. Testing on suspected narcotic items that were removed from a vehicle during a traffic stop on March 2 have also come back positive for marijuana. Warrants for possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, second offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia is being sought for 22-year-old Jamie Ray Alvarado of Jefferson, the driver of the vehicle as well as for his passenger, 18-year-old Jacob Thomas Monthei of Jefferson. Another group of suspected narcotic items seized in a traffic stop on March 1 were positive for marijuana, leading authorities to request warrants for possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia against 19-year-old Conner Laine Groves of Jefferson.
