Kuemper Catholic School System students were able to participate in Mission Honduras last year when they traveled with a group from LeMars Gehlen Catholic. This year, President John Steffes says there have been enough students interested in taking the trip to set up their own Mission Honduras event.
Fundraising took place all throughout the year, and Steffes said preparations are underway for the March trip.
The event does tie in to another mission project done every other year at Kuemper, Then Feed Just One. Last year’s food packaging project helped support the first students from Kuemper on their trip to Honduras.
The team traveling to Honduras March 29 through April 7 will not only bring supplies for residents of the villages and students at the schools, they will also work on building homes and bunk beds and performing projects throughout the villages.
